Rob Deutschmann is a lifelong resident of the Waterloo Region, deeply rooted in the community through both his professional and personal endeavours. He served as the Mayor of North Dumfries for four years and has served as a Regional Councillor for six years. During his time in local office, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to positive government reform, infrastructure development, and community engagement. With his extensive background in law and as a small business owner for 30 years, Rob brings a unique perspective to tackling the challenges facing Cambridge and the province.
As the Liberal candidate, Rob is committed to advancing policies that will strengthen public services, address the housing crisis, and foster innovation to create new opportunities for families and businesses in Cambridge. His leadership style is collaborative and focused on building bridges across diverse communities.
Addressing Pressing Challenges
Rob Deutschmann recognizes the significant and pending threat Cambridge and Ontario face from the potential imposition of severe tariffs by the United States, which could be devastating to local businesses. “We need a strong, unified response to protect our economic interests,” Deutschmann stated firmly. “I fully support a Team Canada approach and believe we must develop a Team Ontario strategy, working collaboratively with all political parties in our province to craft an effective Ontario and Team Canada response.”
Deutschmann’s experience as both a municipal politician and a businessman for three decades positions him uniquely to advocate for Cambridge’s interests at Queen’s Park. “Cambridge deserves a representative who understands the complexities of both government and business,” he emphasized. “I am prepared to be that strong and determined advocate our community needs.”
