Rob Deutschmann is a seasoned lawyer, small business owner, and community leader with deep roots in Waterloo Region. For three decades, he has championed the rights of injured and disabled individuals through his personal injury law practice.
Rob’s journey began at Wilfrid Laurier University, where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) degree. After five years in the business world, he pursued his passion for law, graduating with distinction from Western University. In 1995, Rob established his own practice in downtown Kitchener, which has since grown into a thriving firm with three lawyers and nine staff members.
A true Waterloo native, Rob has called the region home for most of his life. He and his wife chose to raise their three daughters in Ayr, North Dumfries Township, where they’ve lived since 1993. Rob’s commitment to community building is evident in his extensive involvement in local sports and development initiatives:
Rob’s dedication to public service led him to serve as the mayor of North Dumfries Township from 2010 to 2014. During this time, he also held positions on the Regional Council, Grand River Conservation Authority, and Energy Plus board. His tenure was marked by significant achievements:
Rob remains actively involved in regional affairs through his “Old Grey Mayors” podcast, where he has conducted 58 interviews with former municipal politicians, staff, and community activists. He also created the WR Community Town Halls, a virtual platform that encourages resident participation in discussions on current regional issues.
With his wealth of experience, deep community ties, and passion for public service, Rob Deutschmann continues to be a dedicated advocate for the people of Cambridge, North Dumfries and all of Waterloo Region.
